Valence Movement (dance theatre) is based on the idea of physical bonds and the positive and intrinsic aspects of a personality. It is our mission to relate the bonding characteristics of individuals to the stage/ dance setting. Valence Movement is about the quality and drive to perform in intimate settings and inspire audiences.  It is our goal to accomplish new ways of sending messages as well as educate audiences on a style of dance that is thoroughly entertaining when engineered to change, develop and captivate. Each project requires ways to shift and display what we all take part in. A truth that is as basic as addition and subtraction in mathematics and as complex and interesting as cellular biology.
ARTISTIC DIRECTOR, Jamee Valin is the founder and Artistic Director of Valence Movement (dance theatre). As an active member of the Canadian dance scene she also works for Give Me Brilliance and The Lovers Cabaret. Jamee’s success comes from post secondary training at York University and George Brown College for Dance Performance Studies and Fine Arts Cultural Studies.  Her list of work includes performing and/or choreographing for companies and festivals like: Dime A Dozen, FRESH BLOOD (2012), Toronto Youth Ballet Ensemble, Jay9 Dance Projects, GBD Ensemble, Diamond Tooth Gerties, EROS Thanatos & the Avant-Garde ~ The Cabaret Series, Cadence Progressive Contemporary Ballet, RS Divas, AMO Productions, SERIES 8:08, La Scala Opera Company, the Canadian Royal Opera Company, National Artist Program and more. Jamee was given the distinct pleasure of dancing for Tumbling into Light with Andrea Nann and Eroca Nicols at the Enwave Theatre and appeared in Dance: Made in Canada, 2011 and 2013. Recent appearances also include: ‘Wishing Well: A place for cents’ at BC BUDS, ‘IGNITE! Dance Mentorship’ put on by The Cultch and mentored by Amber Funk Barton (Response Dance), Josh Marton (605 Collective), and Tara Cheyenne Friedenberg, as well as  ‘Incandescent’ presented at Dusk Dances (Vancouver). Miss Valin has also self-produced two full length dance shows in Toronto, ON and created five short films in Vancouver, BC.  In October, 2013 Jamee will be touring with a magic show throughout Western Canada.
